Michael Ozpolat, 58, of Salem, passed away Monday, August 11, 2014.
Michael was born in Turkey, and had traveled the world extensively. His grandfather was a Grand Duke in Russia and was forced into exile in the Netherlands in the early 1900s. His parents were both physicians with the World Health Organization. Michael was educated and held two Masters degrees and a Ph.D. from Cambridge University. He enjoyed traveling, having visited over 65 countries, spoke seven different languages and enjoyed reading, music, art and philosophy. He was employed as an electrical engineer at Dresser-Rand in Salem.
He is survived by his loving wife, Emily Zhou-Ozpolat, his son, Michael Ozpolat, Jr. and one brother.
