I remember Billy from school - had to sit with him and another guy on the way to school. I was 3 years older and was let off at
Lord botetourt and Billy had to go to BI (Central Academy) Billy always had a funny story or we played cards on way back to
Blue Ridge. So sorry for your loss prayers for the family Vickie Blankenship

I hesitate to write this as it is a "funny story from LBHS" way back in the early 1970's and I know this is not a happy time BIlly & I were both class of 1973 and born the same year. When I was in the 8th grad my Dad though I had 'round worms' and he gave me a round of 'Pyrontel" worm meds (that we used for the beagles mainly). Whether I had them or not, I grew light 4 inches in 4 months so I didn't forget those meds. One day in about the 10th grade, Billy was complaining to me about being small and so I told him the good news about the round worm meds. He was intrigued, found out he name of the meds, and gave it a go. I don't think it worked for him -- like it worked for me! -- but whenever I hear his name or saw a post on FB, I couldn't help but fondly remember that story from our HS days. RIP ol' buddy.
