Obituary for Wanda Menefee Faw (Caldwell)

Wanda Menefee Faw, 79, of Salem, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 23, 2019.

Wanda is remembered for being a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved to crochet and go to yard sales. She is also remembered for being a woman who liked to have things done a certain way, and according to her standards. You always knew where you stood with Wanda. Though she was tough at times, her love for her family shined through in all aspects of her day to day life.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband, John J. Faw; parents, Reuben and Vera Caldwell; brother, James Caldwell; sister, Joyce Caldwell, as well as her dog “Chi-Chi”.

Left to cherish her memory, are her children, Vicky Wilhelm (James), Debbie and Harry Roberts, Teresa Aguilar, Mary Ann Faw, and Brenda Faw; ten grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; also left to cherish her memory are numerous nieces, nephews, and dear friends; last but not least her little dog, Chloe.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 26, 2019, from 9 a.m.-11 a.m., at John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home, 305 Roanoke blvd., Salem, VA 24153. A funeral service will also be held on Saturday, at 11 a.m. in the John M. Oakey & Son Chapel. Interment will be held immediately following the service at Fairview Cemetery, in Roanoke, VA. Rev. Roy Kanode will be officiating.
