Obituary for Tracy Michelle "Atkins" Greer

Tracy Michelle Greer,36, of Glade Hill, Virginia crossed over from this life to the next on Friday, May 7, 2021.

Finding words to truly describe Tracy’s life is a difficult task to complete. A young woman with a personality like none other, her smile infectious, her laughter genuine, and heart full of love without judgement nor hesitation. Without even knowing, her presence could light up any room and she had an ability to draw you in. Her sense of humor was always in full force, and you could not help but laugh at her jokes and comments. It was also not uncommon for her to try and make you laugh even when you were having a bad day or just sit with you in silence as though she felt your sadness too. She would always put others before herself, sometimes even if it meant going without. A loving daughter, sister, wife, and mother her family was her world. Though it was no secret that you never had to guess where you stood with her, it was either black or white with no gray areas to ponder. And you could always tell what she was thinking just by her facial expression, even after she already told you want was on her mind. And then, she would tell you again so you would not forget. For all those who knew Tracy, knew she was never at loss for words. If she wasn’t spending time with her family chances are you would find her watching the ID channel, a movie she has seen too many times to count, or in the kitchen cooking and singing along with her favorite songs. And sing she did with the voice of an angel that was soothing and unforgettable. She had so many things to be proud of, but she always told everyone that her biggest accomplishment was her children, Trevor, and Khloe. She would always tell them “I love you to the moon and back” which was followed by a big hug and peck on the cheek. Tracy’s second biggest accomplishment was, as she always said, finding someone she can put up with for the rest of her life, although we often wondered who was putting up with who. That said, Tracy knew that when she found Steve, she found love with someone who was not only a home, but an adventure. And every day they spent together with their children; their love grew stronger with their blessings. Unfortunately, Tracy was a beautiful soul who gained her wings too soon. She leaves a footprint of love on all of those who knew and loved her, and she will live on through every story, every song, and every memory. Those we love don’t go away; they walk beside us every day. Unseen, unheard, but always near, Still loved, still missed, and held so dear.

She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Ela and Elwood Smith; father-in-law, Steve Greer Sr.; uncles, Robert Smith, Charles Anthony McGee III, and Ronnie Penn; as well as a cousin, Jennifer Smith.
