Obituary for Thomas Edward Burton
Thomas Edward Burton, 77, of Salem, went to be with the Lord on Friday, October 2, 2020.
Thomas was a man who was full of life. He never seemed to meet a stranger and always had words of encouragement and the ability to brighten your day with just a smile. A lover of all people, he lived his life with a heart full of love and care for all people he knew or met. His family was everything to him, he worked hard to provide for his family and never lost hope or his drive to succeed no matter how hard times may have become during his life. Working as a pipe fitter for a natural gas company up until his retirement after twenty plus years, he always gave his job one hundred percent. If he was not working or spending time with his family, you were likely to find him on a riverbank fishing, or out in the woods scouting for that next big buck.
Thomas is preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Audrey Burton; brother, Jimmy Burton; sister, Patty Robertson; an uncle, Ronnie Richardson; as well a cousin, David Underwood.
Left to cherish his memory are his two sons, Terrence Burton, as well as Thomas Burton; daughter, Elizabeth Zona; grandchildren, Danielle Burton, Erica Weiss, Terrence Burton II, Jordan Wood, and Cory Barger; great-grandchildren, Gabriel, Azlyn, Uriah, Ava, and Kalani; also left to cherish his memory is his great-nephew, Shane Underwood, as well as numerous dear friends and relatives.
In accordance to his wishes no services will be held, however his request was for those who loved and knew him to remember the good times and many laughs they had shared over the years.
