Steve D. Young, 68, of Salem, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, October 28, 2022. Born Sunday, April 4, 1954, to the late Clayton Young and Priscilla Fultz. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by wife, Doris Young; brothers, Bob Young and Rick Young, Sr.
Steve was a truck driver for 43 years but, when not behind the wheel, he enjoyed riding his motorcycles and loved his mustangs. He was a member of Freedom Church in Salem, Virginia where he enjoyed the fellowship of others in his faith.
Those left to cherish in his memory include his children, Moses Young (Carrie), Russell Young; siblings, Helen Shampine, Sandra Ferris, Donna Wheat, Eddie Young; grandchildren Cody Wray, Ryan Young, Graham Wray, Todd Young, Haden Wray; and several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Steve’s life will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, November 11, 2022, at Freedom Church Salem, Virginia with Pastors Randy, and Donette Spence officiating.
The family would like to thank the staff of Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital and Freedom Church for the love, care, and support given to Steve and his family during the time it was most needed.
