Obituary for Stephen Daniel "Steve" Nash

Stephen Daniel Nash, 64, of Salem, Va., went to be with the Lord on Monday, October 31, 2022.

Steve was born in Plattsburgh, N.Y., raised in Rouses Point, and spent summers on the shores of Lake Champlain, Vt., at his family camp before moving to Salem, Va., by the river he loved. He worked for General Electric for over 30 years and enjoyed retirement to the fullest by spending most of his time under cars in his garage. He appreciated the finer things in life like a good sound system and big block. His “dad jokes” were the best, and everything he grilled was to perfection. He could fix anything, and he was trusted by everyone. His family meant the world to him.

He was predeceased by his parents, Jiggs and Ruth Nash.

He is survived by immediate family members, Ruth Nash, Jamie Nash, and Makayla and Trevor Albert; grandchildren, Evelyn and Sylvia Albert; siblings, Lynn Barie and husband, Dennis, Mark Nash and wife, Paula, Amy Nash, Sherry Ward and husband, Carl, and Jill Espinola and husband, Paul; and many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Steve’s life will take place on Friday, November 4, 2022, in the John M. Oakey & Son Chapel in Salem, Va. A period visitation will begin at 10 a.m. with a memorial service following at 11 a.m. Pastor John Collins will officiate.
