Obituary for Samuel Lee "SlamminSammyBah" Weikle

Samuel Lee Weikle went to be with the Lord on Monday, December 26, 2022, at Lewis Gale Medical Center. Sam was born Tuesday, March 28, 1961, to the late Harold Weikle, Sr. and Lucille Johnston Weikle in Roanoke, VA. He was 61 years old. Sam fought a long hard battle for a whole year may he now rest in peace. Sam worked at Shenandoah Industrial Rubber Company for over forty years. He put his heart and soul into this company and most of all, he loved his Shenandoah family. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Weikle; brother, Twiddle Ferguson; and nephew Kevin Ferguson.
He is survived by his wife, Tammy Weikle of 43 years; his beautiful sons and best friends, Shane Weikle and Ben Weikle; brothers, Jerry Ferguson, Harold Weikle Jr; nephews Hunter Weikle, Pierce Weikle, and Tim Ferguson; nieces, Carol Lawhorn and Karen Ferguson; and lifelong best friend from childhood to present, John Palmer (Leon).
A celebration of his life will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, December 31, 2022, at the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home in Salem, VA. Friends may visit with the family from 1 p.m. until the hour of the service.
The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Dr. Dempha and the 5 East nursing staff, Allison, Nannette, Hunter, and Star, and all the rest for such wonderful care and compassion shown to Sam while in their care at Lewis Gale Medical Center.
Sam loved hunting, fishing, and anything outdoors. He was a wonderful husband, father, and was a dog whisperer to Sly and Maggie. May your body be whole again Sam and now rest in peace, until we meet again.
