Obituary for Rufus Eugene Flinchum Jr.
Rufus “Eugene" Flinchum, Jr., 51, of Roanoke, VA, passed away on 11-26-2020. He was born on 10-02-1969 in Galax, Virginia.
He was preceded in death by Margaret "Gaga" Wiley, mother, Rhonda Anne Flinchum, sister.
Eugene is survived by his father, Rufus (Tammy) Flinchum, sons, Zac, and Josh Flinchum; 4 grandchildren, siblings Tonia Horner and Jacob Flinchum, nieces and nephew, Courtney Fitzgerald, Casey Kelly, Heidi Rumley and Jeremy Roberts and special great-nephews Cayden, Coltyn, and Jonah.
Eugene worked in autobody repair for 30 + years. He was an award-winning auto body painter. He enjoyed all things cars and Dale Earnhardt Sr. After losing his mother at a young age, and then his sister his world was dark, but Eugene was a kind man with a big heart. He loved those closest to him and would truly give the shirt off his back to help someone he cared about. He will be missed terribly.
The family has entrusted John M. Oakey and son with the arrangements. A graveside service is scheduled for a later date.
