Ruby Carroll Altice, 95, of Salem, Va., passed away on Sunday, August 14, 2022.
Born on Thursday, September 16, 1926, she was the daughter of the late John Ervin and Ola Neighbors Carroll. She retired from Mick-or-Mack Stores, and was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.
Also preceding her in death were her husband, William Joseph Altice; 8 brothers; and 1 sister.
Her surviving family includes her children, Jean Clinevell and husband, Danny, Susan Foley and husband, Lanny, and Steve Altice; grandchild, Jill Shelton and husband, Chris; great-grandchildren, Chloe, Gabrielle, and Daniel Shelton; 2 sisters; and 3 sisters-in-law.
The family expresses sincere appreciation to Amedysis Hospice, Carmelitta King, and caregiver and friend, Patty Gilley, for the loving care shown to Ruby.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate Ruby’s life on Tuesday, August 16, 2022, at Bethel Baptist Church located at 1601 South Colorado Street in Salem, Va. A period of visitation will begin at 10 a.m. with a funeral service beginning at 11 a.m. Interment will immediately follow at Sherwood Memorial Park, also in Salem, Va. Pastor Hilton Jeffreys will officiate.
