Obituary for Priscilla Roberts Smolka

Priscilla Roberts Smolka passed away in Salem, VA on the morning of Tuesday, September 22nd, 2020 at the age of 76.

Priscilla was born on April 26, 1944 in Utica, NY to Edward and Jeanette (Cooper) Roberts, and grew up in Whitesboro, NY.

She was a Medical Technician at St. Luke’s Memorial Hospital in New Hartford, NY from the mid 1960’s to the mid 1990’s. There she met Robert Smolka and the two were married on May 4th, 1968.

A kindhearted soul, Priscilla was a cat lover, avid needle pointer and loved cooking and baking. She was especially known for her strawberry freezer jam that she handpicked, made, and gifted to everyone each June. She also loved gardening and had an herb garden at her home in New York Mills, NY. Priscilla was also a member of PEO (Philanthropic Educational Organization) International.

Priscilla leaves behind her husband Robert, sisters Jean and Beverly, brother Kent, sons David (Kim) and Justin (Bernie), granddaughters Chloe, Cathy, and Becky, and 2 nieces and 4 nephews.

A celebration of life will be planned in the future. Her final resting place will be the Columbarium of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Richmond, VA.
