Patricia (Patty) Whitt, 65, passed away at her home on Tuesday, January 11, 2022.

She was born on June 14, 1956, in Roanoke, Va., the daughter of the late Alvis Perdue and Virginia (Jean) Perdue. Patty graduated from Andrew Lewis High School, Class of 1973. Patty loved spending time at the beach. She also loved hiking in her younger days. She loved living in SW Virginia, especially in the Fall, when the leaves changed. She had a heart of gold and always wanted to help others, especially those in need. She was a very smart, strong, and feisty lady that loved her family very much.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Sandra Ferguson; brother, Fred Perdue; sister-in-law, Patti Perdue; nephew, Travis Younce; and husband, Billy Whitt.

She is survived by her daughters, Candy Ryan and Jamie Whitt; sister, Deborah Snyder; brother, Alfred Perdue; grandchildren, Taylor Moody, Carly Ryan, and Dan Brewer; great-grandchild, Jace Malloy; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, January 14, 2022, at the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home in Salem, Va. Patty’s funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 15, 2022, in the funeral home’s chapel with Rev. Roy Kanode officiating. Interment will immediately follow at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park in Roanoke, Va.
