Obituary for Virginia Kirby "Ginny" Hight

Virginia Kirby “Ginny” Hight, 97, of Salem, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 1, 2020, from Lewis Gale Medical Center in Salem.
She was born on July 16, 1923, daughter of the late James Edward and Mettie Zana Swimm Kirby, in Fort Chiswell, Va.

Ginny was a remarkably simple, yet private person. Her sweet and humble nature left everyone she met feeling warm, welcomed and would leave you wearing a smile. She was truly exemplary of how a Godly person should portray oneself. She loved the Lord and that love extended to her family, especially her grandchildren whom she simply adored. She was a lifelong member of Salem Pentecostal Holiness Church and recently of New Life Christian Ministries, where she will also be missed.

In addition to her parents, Ginny was preceded in death by her loving husband of 57 years, James Franklin Hight; and 11 siblings.

Family remaining to cherish her memory includes her daughters, Mary Hight Roberson (David), and Phyllis Hight Doyle (Bobby); grandchildren, Elizabeth Roberson Stephenson (John), Josh Roberson (Ashley), Jarrod Roberson, and Jenna Honeycutt
(John); great-grandchildren, Isabelle Stephenson, Wyatt Stephenson, Levi Roberson, Price Roberson, Anna Claire Honeycutt, and Ellie Honeycutt; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In keeping with the wishes of the family, graveside services will be held privately at Piedmont Cemetery, in Shawsville, Va.
A celebration of Ginny’s life, open to the public, will be announced at a later date.

The family wishes to thank the loving staff of Salem Terrace at Harrogate, for their love and dedicated service when it was most needed.
