Obituary for JoAnn Reinhardt Rankin (Rankin)

JoAnn Reinhardt Rankin, of Salem, Virginia passed away peacefully on January 13, 2021, following a long illness. She was born on July 26, 1948, in East St Louis, Illinois. JoAnn was a 1966 graduate of Belleville High School in Belleville, Illinois, and a 1970 graduate of The University of Illinois, receiving a BS degree in Accountancy. Most recently, JoAnn retired from Western-Sizzlin Corp in Roanoke, Virginia. She was predeceased by her parents, Alvin “Dick” and Geraldine “Gerry” Reinhardt of Fairview Heights, Illinois.
JoAnn is survived by her husband of 50 years, Lee Rankin; their children, James (Kim) Rankin, and Jennifer (Joe Snyder) Rankin; and grandchildren, Judah and Alma. She is also survived by her sister, Donna (Brian) Reinhardt Sikes, and brother, Frederick Reinhardt.
The family expresses sincere appreciation to the staff of Harmony at Roanoke as well as Heartland Hospice for their professional and understanding care of JoAnn.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and restrictions, a celebration of JoAnn’s life will be held at a later date.
