Obituary for James William Hall

James William Hall, 55 passed away unexpectedly on September 15, 2022. He was born in Radford, VA on February 26, 1967. James was the kindest, most generous, and most genuine man you would have ever met. His sense of humor was something that you either loved or hated. He was intelligent and knowledgeable about anything and everything. James was an avid Washington Redskins fan, sci-fi lover, and book reader. He was an amazing father to his children and constant in their lives when it mattered the most. He was a friend who would drop anything to help during a time of need and will be missed by so many. James was a sheet metalist/HVAC by trade for most of his adult life, working in the field on many commercial projects with various companies, and recently started his dream job as a Project Manager for ACES.

James was preceded in death by his father and mother, James Linwood Hall and Clara Helen Meador Hall; his sister, Shelley Lee Wiseman; and the mother of his children, Mary Chevelle Chisom Hall.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Kristina Patterson (RT), Jamie Hall-McCraw (Chad), Nicky Hall, and Alex Hall; grandchildren, Jaylyn, Jordyn-Marie, Skylar, Haley, Joseph, and Larkin; siblings, Angie Miller (Neal), Jessie Bowling (JR), Cheri Stacey (Danny) and Boyd Lee; his birth mother, Loraina Jean Lee; several cousins, nieces, and nephews.

James will be deeply missed here on Earth, but we know that we will one day be reunited with him in Heaven.

A funeral service will be held at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, September 21, 2022, at the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home in Salem, Va. Friends may visit with the family from 5 – 7 p.m. on Tuesday, September 20, 2022, at the funeral home.
