Obituary for Jackie Ann DeBusk (Ellison)

Jackie Ann Ellison DeBusk, 84, of Roanoke, was reunited with her son and husband in heaven on Saturday, January 18, 2020.

Jackie is remembered for being a loving and caring mother, grandmother, and devoted wife. She invested many years of care and compassion into taking care of patients as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Her love for people knew no limits and she would frequently volunteer to help others with health issues outside of work. She could find something funny in almost any situation and with her contagious sense of humor she could make anyone burst into laughter at the drop of a hat. Jackie was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day-Saints here in Roanoke and in the Salt Lake City Parley’s 6th Ward where she taught children’s Sunday School for many years. Her talents were not just limited to nursing and teaching, she was also an extremely talented artist, many of her watercolor paintings were admired by art studios over the years. The legacy she has left behind will be honored and cherished by all who knew her. She will be deeply missed; however, peace is found in the fact that she has been reunited with her loved ones on the other side.

Jackie is preceded in death by her parents, Jack & Billie Ellison; loving husband of 64 years, Don Wade DeBusk; as well as her son, Don Wade DeBusk Jr.

Left to cherish her memory is daughter, Heather DeBusk (Brian Jackson); brother, Colin Ellison (Laura); grandchildren, Anna, Grace, & George Charlier; and god-daughter Lyndsey Kearny (Rob).

A Memorial service will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 5836 Cotton Hill Rd, Roanoke, VA 24018, on Monday, January 27, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. The family will receive friends one-hour prior at the church. Jackie will be laid to rest privately at the Wade-Neighbors Family Cemetery.
