Obituary for Helen Jane "Janie" Coffman (Underwood)

Helen Jane Coffman “Janie”, 82, of Salem, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 9, 2020, surrounded by her loving family.
Janie was a woman with a heart of gold who loved her family and friends unconditionally. You never had to guess where you stood with her, trust she would let you know. You didn’t have to question anything or look for an explanation because her face would tell it all just by looking at you. Janie and her husband had a love that was unconditional and was truly love at first sight. She Met Harold one night out with friends, he walked in the room, and they exchanged simple “hellos”, Janie leaned over after he walked away, and told her friends “I’m in love”. Fifty years later, their love shined through no matter the trials or tribulations that came along. They were the same people almost, and didn’t have to speak, they could look at each other and know what the other was thinking. Her memory lives on in the hearts of her loved ones and will always be cherished until the end of time.
Janie is preceded in death by her parents, John and Helen Underwood; sister, Freda Hall; and brother, David Underwood.
Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of fifty years, Harold Coffman; son, Johnathan (Rusty) Guthrie Sr.; step-sons, Robert (Tracy) Coffman; Harold Coffman Jr (Linda) sisters, Betsy Hodges, Lorell Mathena, and Becky Barnett (Billy); brothers, Johnny Underwood (Doris), Patrick (Gene) Underwood Sr. (Linda) and Timothy Underwood Sr.; Her beloved great-granddaughter “the apple of her eye” Gabrielle “Kati” Bloodgood; also left to cherish her memory are her grandchildren, Johnathan Jr and Sara Guthrie; step grandchildren, Sierah Faries, Jacob Coffman, Morgan Coffman, and Brian Heldenbrand (Linda); special great niece, Morgan Underwood; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and neighbors.
