Obituary for Gale Gideon Bair

Gale Bair, 68, of Salem, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, January 19, 2023.
He was born on January 26, 1954, in Daniels, W. Va., son of the late James and Marjorie Johnson Bair. For a total of 32 faithful years, Gale served the residents of Richfield Living. He considered the residents as members of his own family and never saw his employment there as only a job. It was there that he met the love of his life, Rose, who he spent the last 33 years as husband. Together, they enjoyed numerous trips to various places, as they both enjoyed traveling. Camping was certainly at the top of his list of fun things to do, however he, along with his loving wife, and friends to their side, longed to spend a day or evening for a ride on their Harley.

In addition to his parents, Gale was preceded in death by his siblings, Ralph, James, and Tom Bair, Rachel Tallman, and Debbie Porter.

Family remaining to cherish his memory includes his loving wife, Rose Bair; son, Corey Lunsford; siblings, Naomi Meadows (Sherman), David Bair (Christina), Steve Bair (Cindy), Margaret McComas, Helen Cook, Carolyn Crouch, Nathan Bair, and John Bair (Vickie). Numerous nieces, nephews and close friends also survive.

The family will welcome visitors on Saturday, January 28, 2023, from 5 until 8 pm at John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home, in Salem.
A memorial service to honor Gale’s life will be conducted on Sunday, January 29, 2023, at 2 pm in the funeral home chapel with Chaplain Gary Kingery officiating.

While flowers will be accepted and appreciated, please consider making donations in Gale’s memory to Richfield Living by visiting www.richfieldliving.com.
