Obituary for Barbara Jean Brookman
Barbara Jean Brookman, 82, of Salem, crossed over from this life to the next on Friday, April 17, 2021.
Barbara was a compassionate and gentle person. Known for being a devoted wife, mother, and Christian. Her family and faith were of great importance to her, she also loved all people and creatures without a second thought. Her caring compassion and love were continuously shown by words of encouragement or making donations to veteran homes and hospitals, hospice groups, as well as the Angels of Assisi. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Barbara is preceded in death by her parents, Arthur & Margaret Poff; loving husband of over fifty years, Jack Brookman; brothers, Larry & David Poff; as well as her sister, Judy Sisson.
Left to cherish her memory are her son, Scott Brookman; cherished granddaughters, Madeline & Juliette Brookman; as well as many other family members and dear friends.
The family will receive friends on Monday, April 19, 2021, from 6 to 8:00 p.m. in the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home Chapel. She will be laid to rest at Sherwood Memorial Park on Tuesday, April 20, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. Masks/facial coverings, as well as following social distancing guidelines, are required for those who wish to attend services.
