Obituary for Alena Clarissa Boardley

Alena Clarissa Boardley was born in Roanoke Memorial Hospital to Abigayle Arrowood and De’Quante Boardley on Saturday, April 16, 2022, at 2:03 a.m. and passed away a short time later at 2:47 a.m. Alena weighed 13.8 oz. and was 10 1/4 inches long.

The family finds great comfort knowing that Alena is now in the loving arms of her grandmother, La’Tasha Clarissa Boardley, great-grandparents, Phil Breckham, Oveln and Hellen Willis, Iva Sowder; and great-uncle, Berkley Boardley.

Alena's parents were blessed with the short time with her before she went to her heavenly home. Alena looked so much like her Daddy! During her brief time on earth, she touched many lives and will be lovingly remembered by all who met her.

Those left to cherish her memory are the best big brother, Cameron Arrowood; grandparents, Stephanie Raines, Randy (Kelli) Arrowood, and Devery Croson; great-grandparents, Barbara Raines, Kathy (Craig) Oates, Tanya (Jerome) Boardley-Smith, and Althea Croson; aunts and uncles, Brittany Arrowood, Keith (Laiken) Arrowood, Whitney (Doug Phanelson) Arrowood, Natalie Arrowood, Baileigh Oates, Le’Taja Boardley, and Le’Tavia Boardley; great-uncles, David (Patricia) Collins, Steven (Sarah) Arrowood, Tyrone Boardley, Theodore Boardley,and Phil Beckham; as well as three special cousins, Anyah Phanelson, and Taylen and Isaiah Arrowood.

The family will welcome friends on Friday, April 22, 2022, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., in the chapel of John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home. A service to celebrate Alena’s life will begin at 2:00 p.m. with Chaplain Roy Kanode officiating.
