Obituary for Lt. Col. Arnold Robert Moon

SALEM – Lt. Col. Arnold (Arnie) Roger Moon, U.S. Air Force, retired, of Salem, Virginia died following a brief battle with metastatic esophageal cancer.
He was a U.S. Air Force veteran having served in Japan, Germany, Thailand, and Vietnam. After retiring from a 20-year career with the Air Force, he was employed by H & R Block for 11 years.
He graduated from Thiel College in Greenville, Pa. with a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and from Golden Gate University in San Francisco with a Master’s degree in Public Administration. He was active in community theatre in the upstate of South Carolina both as an actor and an administrator before moving to the Roanoke area.
Surviving are his wife, Rosanne, of the home; stepsons, Eric Seanor (Afton) of San Francisco, Scott Seanor of Chicago, Carl Anderson (Val) of Erie, PA; stepdaughters Jennifer Anderson-Graham (Rob) of Bent Mountain, and Elizabeth Lusk (John) of Rancho Santa Margarita, CA; seven grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Clyde Moon; his mother, Dorothy Moon; two wives; Shirley Vivian Pannell Moon, and Mary Lynn Coddington Moon; and his brother, Bruce Moon of Ambridge, Pa.
He was a member of the Unitarian Universalist Church of Roanoke. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date.
