Janice Leach Thomas, 87, of Roanoke, VA passed away on Sunday April 14, 2019. She was born Sunday, March 20, 1932 in Columbus, Ohio, daughter of the late, Russell and Virginia Bronson Leach. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Ardith Dozer, and brother-in-law, Rodger Thomas.

Jan met her husband Dick while attending The Ohio State University. She was an accomplished pianist. active in cancer support groups, and was a life-long member of the Lutheran Church.

Jan was a warm, gracious and loving wife, mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her loving husband, Col. Richard James Thomas, sons, Richard M. (Rick) Thomas and wife, Penny, Michael J. (Mike) Thomas and wife, Sandy, David J. (Jeff) Thomas and wife, Cathie; five grandchildren, Sara Ruffner and husband, Jeff, Robert Lintz, Eric Thomas, Meaghan Thomas and Mitchell Thomas and wife, Erica; and six great-grandchildren, Gabriel, Drew, Marin, Derek, Mallory and Jeffrey; and sisters-in-law, Mary Gribko and Mary Kay Thomas.
