Jo Ann Dinkins Reynolds, 88, of Roanoke, Va., on January 29, 2019, rested from her labors with the assurance of “Well done, good and faithful servant.”

Ann was born on May 20, 1930, in McDowell County, W.Va. to the late Joseph and Prudence (Price) Dinkins. She married her husband, Rev. Dale L. Reynolds, of Tuscola County, Mich., on July 30, 1955. For 49 years, they pastored churches in Michigan and Virginia. Mrs. Reynolds was a member of the gospel duet, Southern Sunbeams, with her lifelong friend, Anita Bowman Green. She was the founding director of Happy Hours Day Care in Martinsville, Va., and of the Virginia Wesleyan Women’s Retreat (Discover the Joy).

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister; Charles, John, Wright, Sheffy, and Lillian.

Her surviving family includes sons, Rev. Gregory Dale Reynolds (Becky) of Roanoke, Va. and Dr. Timothy Reynolds of Cape Cod, Mass.; and chosen sons of heart, Nelson Harris of Shacklefords, Va. and Rick Williams of West Palm Beach, Fla. Her grandchildren are Rev. Matthew Reynolds (Samantha), and Stephanie Reynolds Landis (Matthew); and great-grandchildren are Brendan, Trenton, Mason, Brady, and Carlee Ann. She is also survived by her friend and caregiver, Bennie Fralin; sister-in-law, Norma Dinkins; and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, February 1, 2019, at First Wesleyan Church located at 3706 Peters Creek Road NW, Roanoke, Va. A worship service celebrating her home going will be conducted at the church (First Wesleyan Church) at Noon on Saturday, February 2, 2019, with the Rev. Robert Phaup, Rev. Randy Garner, and Dr. John Ott officiating. Interment will be at Novesta Township Cemetery, Cass City, Mich. in spring 2019.
