Condolences

Condolence From: Steve Hill
Condolence: I was saddened to hear of Eddie’s passing. He was one of the finest gentleman I have know. I graduated from Pomeroy the same year as he graduated from Wahama H.S. . We were friends through four years of college. I stopped to see him in Chicago (Med School) on my way to Japan. (USAF). I saw him several times over the years and it was a joyful reunion each time. The last time I talked with him we talked about his house on the lake and his sailboat. He invited me to come and visit. I wish I had. I have lived in SoCal for about 40 years and I seldom get to the East Coast. I must say hello to his sister June who I remember as a very nice young girl. I would like to thank Ed’s grandchildren for the fine obituary. I shared it with some people from my high school that knew him.

God Bless You and Ed.

Condolence From: Kathy Fredeking
Condolence: I am indeed saddened by the death of Dr. Spencer. Even though my family and I had only a brief interaction with him almost thirty years ago, we will forever be grateful. He was on call the morning of April 12, 1989, and examined our son, John, esoon after his birth. He detected a heart murmur and ordered an echocardiogram . He told us these murmurs were usually insignificant; however, he wanted to be sure. Had he not done that, we would have nevere known our son had a severe heart defect, and would not have survived. He had his first open heart surgery at two days of age, and is now a Speech Therapist at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital. May you find comfort in knowing he truly made a difference in so many young lives.
