George Stephen (Steve) Muddiman, 84, of Roanoke, passed away on Saturday, June 8, 2019 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital.
He was born on January 20, 1935 to the late Otto and Selma Louise Unthank Muddiman in Roanoke County. Steve enlisted and proudly served in the United States Air Force following high school. After being honorably discharged, Steve became employed with Roanoke Iron and Steel as a Field Superintendent overseeing the production of steel for jail cells. He retired after 30 plus years of faithful service. Above all, he will be remembered as a loving and faithful husband, as well as a dear friend to many that loved him! He will be missed.
In addition to his parents, Steve was preceded in death by 1 brother.
Family remaining to cherish his memory includes his wife of 60 plus years, Mary Louise Muddiman of Roanoke, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 11, 2019 from 3 until 4 p.m. at John M. Oakey and Son Funeral Home in Salem. Graveside services with military honors honoring Steve’s life will be conducted on Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at 2 p.m. at Fairview Cemetery in Roanoke.
