William E. “Bill” Bain, 73, of Salem, died on Tuesday, January 16, 2018. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Earl S. and Jane J. Bain; and nephew, Larry W. Booth, Jr.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 50 years, Carolyn U. Bain of Salem, VA; children, Leigh B. (Shane) Hitchcock of Nashville, TN and Stuart M. (Sarah) Bain of Salem, VA; siblings, Sheri B. (Randy) Tuck of Monroe, VA, Mark L. (Lisa) Bain of Salem, VA, and Paul D. (Denise) of Lexington, NC; grandchildren, Hannah and Rebekah Hitchcock and Elizabeth, Charles and Charlotte Anne Bain; numerous nieces and nephews; Larry W. Booth; and C &C.
Bill’s favorite pastime was fishing in the Outer Banks. He was a devoted Sunday school teacher and mentor to the youth at Grandin Court Baptist Church for many years.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, January 21, 2018 at Grandin Court Baptist Church with Dr. Kevin Meadows officiating.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Gentle Shepard Hospice for their care.
