Obituary for Jerry Philip Armeli II

Jerry Philip  Armeli II
Jerry Philip Armeli, II, 59, of Salem, passed away Wednesday, January 18, 2017.

He was born at Fort Eustis, VA, the son of Col. Jerry P. Armeli, and the late Elsa Merlitti Armeli and had been a Salem area resident for over 25 years. The proud grandson of Italian immigrants, and a son in a military family, Jerry lived in many exciting areas growing up including Germany, Tehran, California, Texas, Pennsylvania and Virginia. He was employed at Graham-White for 20 years, and enjoyed camping and fishing, raising fish and his four cats.

In addition to his father, he is survived by a brother, Col. Thomas F. Armeli and his wife Terri; two sisters, Julie A. Mercer and husband Lloyd, and Katherine Blevins; his step-mother Mildred Armeli; two nieces, Kristi Henson and Amy Bott; two nephews, Nicholas and Noah Mercer, and his good friend, Brian Smith.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 PM, Sunday, January 22, 2017 at John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home, Salem. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Salem Animal Shelter 1301 Indiana St. Salem, VA 24153.
