Saturdays With Lady E

Once upon a time there was an awkward teenage girl who was privledged enough to meet Mrs. Evelyn Campbell.  Mrs. C as I'll loveingly refer to her as, was in need of some extra help around the house.  On our first (I'm the awkward girl) encounter our souls were instantly drawn together.  It was agreed that every Saturday I'd come over and help with the tasks she could no longer do herself.  Every Saturday I'd go and instead of seeming like work, it was always surprisingly enjoyable.  For hours we'd talk as she'd follow me from room to room getting to know each other as I worked. Then we'd have to stop for lunch and chat some more. Mr. Campbell would often join us at that time.  We became family as the years went by.  They always referred to me as their girl. To my children, they were Gran and Poppy.  She taught me so much during those wonderful Saturdays together.  She was always a lady. Lady Evelyn, very graceful, elegant, beautiful, and intelligent. The most important role model I'd ever had. No matter the time or distance between us during these last few years, I'll always think of her as my beloved "other mother" Mrs. C.; and now she has joined her one true love Mr. C, as well as her loving Father.  She told me of a dream she'd had once.  She was walking along by herself in a beautiful place when she felt Jesus take her by the hand and walked with her.  Her dream is now reality.  Love you always, your girl Leslie
