Obituary for Harry Joseph Minarik

Dr. Harry J. Minarik, 94, of Salem, passed away Thursday, March 19, 2015.

A family physician in the Salem area for over 35 years, Dr. Minarik was a United States Navy veteran of World War II, and a lifelong Episcopalian. He was preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Eva Walker Minarik, two brothers, James Michael and John Walker Minarik, and a grandson, Harry Joseph Minarik, III.

He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Jacqueline V. Minarik; daughter Ann M. Wallace and husband William of Salem; two sons, H. Joseph Minarik, Jr. and wife Sonya of Norris, TN, and Michael R. Minarik and wife Alexandra of Williamsburg, VA; ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11AM, Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Salem. The Rev. James Lively, Rev. Dr. David Dixon and Rev. Joe Minarik will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service in the church parish hall. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his honor to the charity of the donor’s choice.
