In Loving Memory of

Edith Okey Underwood Aliff

Edith Okey Underwood Aliff, 70, of Salem, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Monday, January 1, 2007.  Edith was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Leonard Aliff; parents, Bessie and Eligah Underwood; sons, Lynwood Aliff and Billy Aliff; brothers, Stanley Underwood and Bobby Underwood; and sisters, Hazel Reynolds and Lillian Trout.  Edith leaves behind to cherish her memory her son and daughter-in-law, Odell and Debby Aliff, of Christiansburg; daughter, Mary L. Wray, of Salem; daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and David Clemons, of Floyd; step-sons, Clarence Aliff, Danny Aliff, Billy Joe Cioti; step-daughters, Shirley Wood, Barbara Rock, and Ellen Brown; sister and brother-in-law, Peggy and Jimmy Holleman; brother, Robert “Buster” Underwood, of North Carolina; grandchildren, Carrie Young, Angie Manning, Tina Eanes, Allen Aliff, John Wray, David Clemons, Jr., and Noah Aliff; 8 great-grandchildren; and many other special family members and friends.  The family would like to thank Carilion Hospice for their special care.  Edith will be dearly missed.  The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 3, 2007 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.  A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 4, 2007 at 11 a.m. in the John M. Oakey & Son Chapel in Salem.  Rev. Roy Turpin will officiate.  Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Roanoke .  Online condolences may be made at www.johnmoakey.com.  The Aliff family is being served by John M.
