Mary Edna Ford Lundy, age 97, of Salem , VA passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, June 11, 2008. She was born April 11, 1911 in Grafton , WV daughter of the late Edwin and Minnie Ford. She was preceded in death her husband, Edwin Ardell Lundy; son, Edwin Leroy Lundy; grandson, Donald (Brubber) Young; great-grandson, Charlie Lowe. She is survived by a son, Donnie Lundy; three daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Louise and Don Young, Norma and Roger Webb and Thelma Harris; sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Thomas Pitzer; sixteen grandchildren, twenty seven great-grandchildren and fifteen great-great-granchildren. Mrs. Lundy was known to everyone as Granny. Granny watched over five generations and she was loved by every child that came in contact with her, she baby sitted for many years and thier children’s children. She lived and loved life to the fullest from sleighing to every family gathering and she was the center of the family. Her wisdom and love, will forever live in our hearts and remain, until we meet again. She will be greatly missed by all her family, friends and neighbors. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 15, 2008 at the chapel of John M. Oakey and Son, Salem . The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Saturday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens in Roanoke .
