Martha Ann Headen, 83, of Salem , passed away on Saturday, April 26, 2008. She was born on February 12, 1925 in Salem , VA. She was the daughter of the late William Walter and Mildred Austin Headen. Martha retired as an office clerk from the U.S. Navy. She was a member of the Salem Church of Christ. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Francis Baker. She is survived by a brother, Bill Headen of Salem; Nieces and Nephews, Paige Lawrence and husband David, Josh Headen, Barbara Joy Headen, Christian Headen, Scott Baker and wife Rhonda, and Susan Grozier and husband Doug; great Nieces and Nephews, Anna, Hudson, Corey, Eli, Cole, and Seth; brother-in-law, Bruce Baker; aunt, Jessie Duke; Cousins, Priscilla Evens and Jackie Nelson and husband Garth; and numerous other family members. A graveside service will be conducted at 2 PM on Tuesday, April 29, 2008 at Sherwood Memorial Park , with Pastor Scott Baker officiating. Interment will follow. The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 6-8 PM at John M. Oakey and Son, Salem .
