Milton Reid Acree, Sr., 79 of Salem , VA passed away Friday, May 02, 2008. He was born January 5, 1929 in Littleton , NC son of the late Julian B. and Mattie Hall Acree. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Leon and Brantley Acree. Mr. Acree was a retired District Sales Manager for Mt. Olive Pickle Company, a member of Salem Baptist Church and was a US Navy Korean War Veteran. He was a graduate of Wake Forest University , a member of Taylor Masonic Lodge #23, Salem Sports Foundation, Grocery Manufacturers Retail Association, American Legion and loved playing tennis. He is survived by his loving wife, Shirley Gupton Acree; son, M. Reid Acree, Jr. and wife Tina; sister-in-law, Bonnie Gupton; nephew, Brantley Acree, Jr. and a niece, Jane Acree Moore. A memorial service will be conducted at 12 noon on Monday, May 5, 2008 at Salem Baptist Church with Rev. Everett Kier officiating. Interment will be held at a later date in Warren County, North Carolina. The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall.
