Ivra Layman Thompson, 98, of Salem, passed away on Thursday, March 27, 2008. She was a member of the Sunrise Circle, the West Salem Social Club, and the Salem Church of Christ. Preceding her in death were her parents, Green T. and Mary E. Layman; and husband, Cleavie W. Thompson. Her surviving family includes several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 30, 2008 from 2 to 4 p.m. in the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home in Salem. A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 31, 2008 at 11 a.m. in the funeral home’s chapel. Interment will follow at Sherwood Memorial Park in Salem. The Rev. Roy Miller will officiate.
