In Loving Memory of

Erie Lee Wyrick

Erie Lee Wyrick, 78, of Salem , passed away Tuesday, May 6, 2008.  He was born in Bland, VA on May 11, 1929 to the late John Erie and Dorothy Beamer Wyrick.  He was a veteran of the Korean War.  He retired from the Norfolk Southern Railroad.  He liked to travel and loved to work on clocks.  He loved life and he never met a stranger.  He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Janet Wyrick; two sons, Robert Erie Wyrick and Herbert Lynn Wyrick;  and daughter and son-in-law, Vickie and Steve Guard.  He left behind three grandchildren, Matthew, Stephanie, and David Guard.  Also surviving are his brothers; Leslie and Mary Ann Wyrick, Alfred and Eleanor Wyrick, and Garnet and Audrey Wyrick.  He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.  A funeral service will be conducted at 2 PM on Friday, May 9, 2008 at John M. Oakey and Son, Salem with the Reverend Wayne Monroe officiating.  Interment will follow at Cedar Lawn Cemetery .  Military graveside rites will be conducted by VFW Post 1264.  The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6-8 PM at John M. Oakey and Son.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Salem Health and Rehabilitation Center , Residence Council Fund, 1945 Roanoke Blvd , Salem , VA   24153 or to a charity of your choice.  The Wyrick family is being served by John M.
