In Loving Memory of

Charles Clyde Remines, 89, of Salem , passed away on Thursday, April 10, 2008.  He was born April 19, 1918 in Tazewell , VA son of the late William and Lilly Kinder Remines.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Opal Jones Remines; his brothers, Oscar “Doc” Remines, Jim Remines, Stewart Remines, and William “Bill” Remines, Jr.; and sister, Katie Hill.  Mr. Remines was retired truck driver having worked for Associated Transport and Wiley N. Jackson Construction Company and was a member of the Teamsters Union.  His surviving family includes his son, James Remines; daughter, Christine Remines; brother, James “Shorty” Remines; sister, Ella Remines Belcher; a number of nieces and nephews; beloved dog, Missy; and beloved cats, Bunky, Sophie, and Molly.  The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 12, 2008 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home in Salem .  A funeral service will be held on Sunday, April 13, 2008 at 2 p.m. in the funeral home’s chapel with Rev. Kathy Haga officiating.  Interment will be private at Sherwood Memorial Park in Salem .  Online condolences may be made to the family at www.johnmoakey.com.  The Remines family is being served by John M.
