Lucy Goodman Epperly, 74, of Salem, passed away on Wednesday, February 18, 2015. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She was retired from V-DOT after 35 years of service, and loved sports and the beach in her spare time. Preceding her in death were her parents, Johnny and Daisy Goodman; brother, Nick Goodman; and sister, Sheila Poff and husband, Gary. Her surviving family includes her husband, Lennie Epperly; children, Lisa Schafer and husband, Matthew, and Leslie Saul and husband, Larry; sisters, Jan Heath and husband, David, and Donna Zirkle and husband, John; grandchildren, Joseph Kormann and wife, Mateja, Caroline Kormann, Landon Saul, and Logan Saul; many other family members; and special friends, Pat Bruce and Margaret Crouch. The entire family expresses a sincere thanks to the doctors and nurses of the CSICU at Roanoke Memorial Hospital, especially Kim, Lindsay, and Tommy, for their care and compassion. A period of visitation will be held on Friday, February 20, 2015 from 4 to 6 p.m. in the John M. Oakey & Son Chapel in Salem. A memorial service will then begin at 6 p.m. with the Rev.
