Obituary for Robert Karl "Leo" Waldron

Robert Karl “Leo” Waldron, age 61, of Roanoke, Va. Went to be with the Lord on Monday, December 10, 2018 at his home. He was born on Tuesday, August 6, 1957 to Sonja Anna Waldron and the late Gene Albert Waldron, Sr. “Leo” was a wonderful son and brother! He enjoyed bowling, billiards, and target shooting. “Leo” graduated from Northside High School in 1977 and soon after heard the call to serve his country. He enlisted into the U.S. Army attaining the rank of SPEC 5. In recent years “Leo” had become a dedicated driver for FedEx Ground.
In addition to his mother he is survived by one brother, Gene Albert Waldron, Jr. and wife, Vickie; nieces, Jessica Ratcliffe and husband, Robert, and Chelsea Phillips and husband, Kevin: nephews, Jonathan Waldron and Levi Waldron; very special friend, Brenda Copeland; and his beloved dog Gunner.
A funeral service to celebrate “Leo’s” life will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Friday, December 14, 2018 at the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home in Salem, Va. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens in Roanoke, Va.
Friends may visit with the family from 6 – 8 p.m. on Thursday, December 13, 2018 at the funeral home.
