She was born in West Virginia, a daughter of the late Richard and Mary Katherine Pack and had been a Salem area resident since 2008. She will be remembered as a remarkable lady of immense grace, selflessness and faith.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 63 years, Carmel D. Hicks, seven brothers and four sisters.

She is survived by three daughters, Linda Curd and husband Tom, Sheila Kay Smith and husband Phil, and Donna Hetherington and husband John. Also surviving are five grandchildren, Shelaine, Tommi, Ronnie, Shawna and Chad; eleven great-grandchildren, and numerous extended family members.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 PM, Friday, August 10, 2018 with services beginning at 7 PM at the Chapel of John M. Oakey & Son, Salem. Burial will be held at 1PM, Saturday, August 11, 2018 at Valley View Cemetery in Hinton, WV.
