Norma Jean  Partin (McDonald)
Norma Jean McDonald Partin, age 86, of Roanoke, Va. passed away after a lengthy illness on Sunday, July 1, 2018. She was born on Thursday, September 10, 1931 to the late Carrie B. and Frank E. McDonald, Sr. Jean was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Her family was everything to her, and her friends were her greatest treasures. She was a faithful follower of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ. On Sunday evening she joined her husband, Gilbert W. Partin; and son, Rodney L. Partin in heaven, in addition to her parents she is also preceded in death by her sister, Sarah M. Wall and husband, Guy; and a brother, Frank E. McDonald, Jr. and wife, Betty Jean.
Those left to cherish her memory are “her boys”, Wesley E. Partin and wife Tracey, and Kenneth B. Partin; grandchildren, Brittany Haywood, Emily Partin, Zachary Haywood, Blair Partin; sister, Nancy Johnson and husband, Bill; brothers, George McDonald and wife, Carlisle, Donald McDonald and wife, Emily; numerous cherished nieces, nephews, and extended family also survive.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 5, 2018 at Salem Presbyterian Church 41 E. Main St., Salem, Va. 24153 with Rev. Will Robinson officiating. Burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery in Vinton, Va.
Friends may visit with the family from 4-6 p.m. on Wednesday, July 4, 2018 at John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home in Salem, Va. and again at the church from 10 – 11 a.m. Thursday, July 5, 2018.
The family is thankful for the wonderful round the clock care given by her loving caregivers during her illness.
The family asks that all attendees wear a red accessory to honor Mrs. Partin.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, American Heart Association, or Good Samaritan Hospice.
