Rev. Dale L. Reynolds, 86, of Roanoke, Va., on Monday, July 30, 2018, joined the Great Cloud of Witnesses worshipping around the throne of Christ, cheering us onward in our earthy journeys.

Dale was born on June 8, 1932, in Tuscola County, Mich., to the late Walter and Mary (Templeton) Reynolds. He married his wife, Jo Ann Dinkins, of O’Toole, W.Va., on July 30, 1955. For 49 years, they pastored churches in Michigan and Virginia. From 1984-1995, Rev. Reynolds served as the Virginia District Superintendent of The Wesleyan Church. He also served on the General Board of Administration of The Wesleyan Church and the Board of Visitors of Central Wesleyan College (Southern Wesleyan University).

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five sisters and one brother, Ione Rock (Henry), Fern Babich (Louis), Leitha Paladi (Alex), Vera Conquest (Basil), Lilla Reynolds, and Rev. Walter Reynolds (Grace).

His surviving family includes his wife of exactly 63 years, Ann Reynolds; sons, Rev. Gregory Dale Reynolds (Becky) of Roanoke, Va. and Dr. Timothy Reynolds of Cape Cod, Mass.; and a chosen son at heart, Nelson Dale Harris of Shacklefords, Va. His grandchildren are Rev. Matthew Dale Reynolds (Samantha), and Stephanie Reynolds Landis (Matthew); and his great-grandchildren are Brendan, Trenton, Mason Dale, Brady Dale, and Carlee Ann. He is also survived by a brother, Rev. Lyle Reynolds (Darolene); a sister, Shirley North (Harold, decd.); and special friends and care givers, Bill and Bennie Fralin.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, August 3, 2018, at First Wesleyan Church located at 3706 Peters Creek Road NW, Roanoke, Va. A worship service celebrating his home going will be conducted at the church at 12 Noon on Saturday, August 4, 2018, with Rev. Robert Phaup, Rev. Randy Garner, and Dr. John Ott officiating. Interment will be at Novesta Township Cemetery, Cass City, Mich. on Tuesday, August 7, 2018.
