Obituary for Rusha Perdue Epperly (Perdue)

Rusha P. McNeil Epperly, 87, of Salem, passed away on Wednesday, July 25, 2018. She was born July 16, 1931 where she grew up in Ironto, VA and lived in Salem the remainder of her life.
Rusha graduated from Shawsville High School was then employed by Rowe Furniture; Dr. Harry J. Minarik; and retired from the LewisGale Clinic. She was a long-standing member of Bethel Baptist Church. She enjoyed sewing, cooking and baking, and especially working in her beautiful flower garden.
She was preceded in death by her parents, E. Watkins and Mary St. Claire Perdue; husband, Ronceverte McNeil; daughter, Marcia Ellen McNeil; sisters, Theodosia (George) Peregoy, Junie (Harold) Johnson, and Peggy Perdue; and brother, George Perdue.
Surviving are her daughters, Loretta (James A.) Gresham of Salem, and M. Rebecca (Roger) Bennett of Mechanicsburg, PA; grandchildren, James L. (Julia) Gresham II of Holly Springs, NC, and Rachel Gresham of Nashville, TN; and many in-laws, nephews and nieces.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, July 27, 2018 at John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home, Salem. A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 28, 2018 at John M. Oakey & Son Chapel. An Interment will follow at Sherwood Memorial Park, Salem.
