Obituary for John David Hargrave
John “David” Hargrave, age 59, of Salem, Va. was called home on Saturday, April 14, 2018 following a lengthy illness. He was born on Thursday, January 1, 1959 in Newport News, Va. to John Howard Hargrave, and the late Joyce Ann McVey Hargrave. John was a loving husband, and father. He worked for Phoenix Services for the past eleven years. In addition to his mother he is preceded in death by his grandparents, William and Lula Hargrave; sister, Sherry L. Threatt; uncle, Bill Hargrave; and cousin, Danny Hargrave.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of twenty-one years, Lois A. Whittaker Hargrave of Salem, Va.; son, Shane William Hargrave of Newport News, Va.; step children, Billy Wilson of Roanoke, Va. and Alisa Rotenberry of Kimball, Wv.; step-grandson, Tyler Rotenberry of Kimball, Wv.; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends also survive.
In keeping with wishes he will be cremated and will be inurned in the family cemetery on a very special day, which is his wedding anniversary July 22, 2018.
