Rosemary McLain “Rose” Harman, age 87, of Salem, VA joined her beloved husband Jimmy in heaven on Friday, March 16, 2018. Born on Wednesday, April 2, 1930 to the late John Thomas and Mary Steele McLain. Rose was a Kmart Corporation retiree, she loved to travel, and play games on her tablet and smartphone. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, James Louis Harman; sisters, Mildred Gertrude McLain Sink, Doris Elizabeth McLain Gross, Barbara Jean McLain; brother, John Thomas McLain, Jr.
She is survived by her nieces, Diane Scartz, Pat Hogan, Marlene Garten, Mary McLain, Susan Stump, Linda Sink Thomas; nephews John T. McLain, III, Roy Gross, Jr., great niece, Kasie Sink McClamma; and sister-in-law, Teena McLain; and a host of nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 in the Abbey at Sherwood Memorial Park 1250 E. Main St. Salem, VA 24153 with Rev. Ricardo Rodriguez officiating.
Friends may visit with the family at the Abbey from 10:00 AM until the hour of the service.
In lieu of flowers, if you wish donations can be made to your favorite animal shelter or rescue in honor of Rosemary.
