Kenneth W. Whitlock, 79, of Salem, died Saturday, March 3, 2018. He was a long time employee of Blue Ridge Beverage in Salem, Virginia, he was known there as “Speedy”. He was a member of Wabun Revival Center where he enjoyed playing guitar in the church band. He was a very gifted musician.
Kenneth was predeceased by his wife of 57 years, Virginia L. Whitlock, whom he loved very much; father, Asa (Acie) Whitlock; mother, Edith Cock; and
brothers-in-law, Sammy J. Thomason and Donald E. Huddleston.
He is survived by sisters-in-law, Gloria J. Thomason and Meri H. Huddleston; one niece; and three nephews.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Richard Carter for his many years of care as well as Christina Johnson for her very special care.
A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, March 7th at Sherwood Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family asks to please consider making a donation to his church, The Wabun Center, c/o Andrew Draughn, General Delivery, Mount Airy, NC 27030.
