Angela “Gege” Denise Alexander, 43, of Salem, passed peacefully in her sleep at home on Thursday, October 26, 2017.

Her family has lost their biggest heart. She was always giving advice and love, a life spent with open ears and an open door, forever putting others before herself. She was never alone and was always surrounded by family and friends.

Angela was born in Roanoke, June 5, 1974, a daughter of the late Lacy Giles Alexander and Bonny Jean Alexander. She was a 1992 graduate of Northside High School.

Angela is preceded in death by her father, Lacy Giles Alexander; maternal grandfather, Burney Edward Witt; and paternal grandparents, Gilmer and Nan Alexander.

Left to cherish her memory is her mother, Bonny Jean Alexander; brother, Jeff Alexander and wife, Christine; maternal grandmother, Lottie Witt Reynolds; nephew, Cody Alexander; Niece, Cayla Alexander; uncle, Doug Witt and wife, Herlinda; and many cousins and friends.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Angela at Kindred at Home for her compassion.

The family will receive friends from 11a.m. until 1 p.m. on Saturday, October 28, 2017 at John M. Oakey & Son, Salem. A funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.

Interment will be held at Sherwood Memorial Park, Salem.
