Virginia Trout Maxey, 78, of Roanoke, passed away Tuesday, September 19, 2017.

Virginia was a loving mother and grandmother whom loved taking care of her family. She was retired from Sam’s Wholesale after 20+ years of service. Virginia attended Riverside Evangelical Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents Ernest and Reine “Bob” Trout; son, Michael Maxey; and brother, Bobby Trout.

She is survived by her daughter, Vickie Akers and husband, Jerry; sons, David Maxey and Lee Maxey and wife, Melanie; granddaughters, Ashleigh Woolwine and Katie Maxey; and her fur-kids, Ozzy and Lacie.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday evening, September 21, 2017 at John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home in Salem.

A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, September 22, 2017 from the chapel of John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home with Pastor Bryan Gordon officiating. Interment will follow at Sherwood Memorial Park.
