Obituary for Parker Bryan "Daddy" Coleman

Parker “Daddy” Bryan Coleman, 4, of Christiansburg, went home to Jesus on Monday, August 14 surrounded by his family.

Parker was born on August 7, 2013 and was a true blessing to everyone who met him. His signature smile was contagious. He was an avid sports fan and loved cheering on the Hokies. Parker spent his days playing super heroes and fire trucks, and spreading joy. Parker led a valiant fight with Leigh’s Disease, a mitochondrial disorder.

Parker is preceded in death by great-grandparents Gene and Joyce French of Roanoke, Cecil and Mary Harris of Danville, and Bill and Elsie Coleman of Ringgold. He is survived by his parents, Bryan and Sarah Coleman of Christiansburg; little brother, Zachary; grandparents, Don and Barbara Coleman of Danville, and A.K. and Kim Briele of Salem; aunts, Amy Briele of Salem and Leslie Lovelace and husband Lee of Danville; cousin Luke Lovelace; great-grandparents, Kern and Judy Briele of Salisbury, MD; and special caregiver, Kristin Reid. Parker is also survived by a loving and close-knit extended family.

A celebration of Parker’s life will be held at 2PM, Thursday, August 17, 2017 at the Chapel of John M. Oakey & Son, Salem. Pastor Lisa Nordan will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM this evening, Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Make-A-Wish Greater Virginia, an organization that touched Parker’s life deeply. Donations can be mailed to 2810 N.
