Obituary for Dwayne Alan Williams

Dwayne Alan Williams
Dwayne Alan Williams, 45, of Salem, passed away on Monday, August 7, 2017.

Dwayne was born on Saturday, May 20, 1972, to Curtis and Priscilla Williams of Salem. All who knew Dwayne will remember his generous spirt and willingness to help friends whether it was moving furniture, offering a ride, or sharing all he had. Dwayne was also a talented musician. He enjoyed “slapping” his bass and truly loved creating music with his friends. His greatest love, however, was his daughter, Haleigh. Everyone who met Dwayne knew within moments that Haleigh was his most cherished accomplishment and source of pure joy.

Dwayne is survived by his parents; daughter, Haleigh, and her mother, Michele; brothers, Daryl, Jeff (Sue), and Tony (Cyndi); niece, Rachel; aunt, Helen (Glenwood) Martin; cousin, Steve; and uncles, Alfred (Pat) Williams and Richard (Liz) King.

A period of visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, August 10, 2017, at First United Methodist Church (Genesis Hall). The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 11, 2017, also at First United Methodist Church (Genesis Hall), with Rev. Bobby Pickle officiating. Burial will take place at Church Hill Cemetery. A reception will immediately follow at First United Methodist Church (Genesis Hall).

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Genesis Service at 125 West Main Street in Salem, Va. 24153. Online condolences may be expressed at www.johnmoakey.com.
