Condolence: I'm truly heartbroken over hearing this. Matt and I worked together at the Kmart pharmacy many many years ago. I was a pharmacy tech from 2000-2005. He was truly supportive of my achievements in college and always encouraged me to achieve my goals. I would often seeing him walking down Salem and he never met a stranger. He made anyone laugh. God has a great blessing now in Heaven.

Condolence: I feel close to the family and grateful to ever know Uncle Matt. He always made me feel welcome and always wanted to pay for things (even though Marsha never let that happen). I feel lucky to have listened and laughed at his unique jokes. They were the best, and should have made it into the newspaper. it was very, very endearing and brought warmth to my soul when me and Haley were leaving Roanoke and he hugged me close and kissed me on the head. I will definitely miss Uncle Matt.
